  1. Sep 15,  · It seemed on this album they only had two songwriters in Bob Welch and Christine McVie. To me the real "mystery to me" is how underrated this album is. Many rock publications seemed a bit dismissive of it, but I found the album is full of great songs. To me, it's an overlooked album of pop/rock and really worth having/5(57).
  2. Truly an underrated album. The Bob Welsh years in Fleetwood Mac have also gone mostly unnoticed, because of not having the big commercial hits or singles. I love the Peter Green years of Fleetwood Mac and the Bob Welsh years are a close second. Mystery To Me so far is my favorite album in the Bob Welsh years. I'm happy to have it in my collection/5().

  5. reissue based on label version with Warner Communications "W" logo and zip code in rim text address. Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Pitman pressing denoted by "P" stamp in runouts. Gatefold sleeve. Lyric sheet has 'Good Things (Come to Those Who Wait)' listed instead of 'For Your Love'.
  6. Besides the most well known song "Hypnotized" I had a constant soundtrack in my head featuring "Believe Me", "Just Crazy Love" (still an all time FM fave), "Keep On Going" & "Emerald Eyes". I thought "Forever" was dumb, not knowing it was a skiffle track with my limited musical vocabulary at that time.
  7. The album's best track, the gorgeous and lyrically strong "Hypnotized" has Welch matching an effortless, soothing croon with jazzy guitar riffs. Throughout Mystery to Me the amazing and almost telepathic drums and bass of Mick Fleetwood and John McVie give this effort more panache and muscle than was represented on this effort's predecessor.
  8. Unfortunately, Weston just can't do for this group what his predecessors accomplished. In the long run, he wisely chooses not to even try. As for Mystery To Me, uhm, it's sad that four songs that should have been average turned out to be the best the album had to offer. Mediocrity really is a drag.
